EventPANIC
What is Event Panic and why don't we need it
For a start - who wants to panic
We've all had the situation where at different times during an event, panic appears out of no where. Doesn't matter if it was your first or hundredth event, it happens. That got me thinking, why does it need to happen at all and how can we eliminate it? I know that sounds like a huge goal - but why be meek when something so terrible is being discussed.
After quite a bit of discussion with event organisers it appears that process was often the cause of event panic - not that those organising the events weren't thorough, just that different processes and methods some how didn't match and bingo - the panic arose.
So we decided to attack one of the most exposed processes - the guest experience. What your guests experience before arriving bares significantly on the actual event. Too often guests want to register, reply or RSVP only to get lost in the hoops they need to jump through - not that these hoops were hard to follow - they were just another process interrupting a busy person. So we attacked that, pooled our experience of more than 1500 events and designed a series of forms and workflows to make sure common bottlenecks were avoided - we call this making the event registration more USABLE.
Beyond the registration process we also found event panic crept in when an organiser needed to reshape the registration data for another purpose - either the right information was collected but it was in a form that caused hassles - the team at EventOFFICE designed an event registration planning method that helps organisers ask those important questions that effect event registration, event day and event follow up. Since implementing this process we've helped organisers to avoid those "why didn't we think about this before" moments - after all, good processes lead to great events and easy registration makes for happy guests.
We hope this explanation of how we've attacked event panic, helps you explore opportunities to banish EventPANIC from your own events - as we know, events leverage a community of suppliers - so this challenge is greater than the EventOFFICE - but then it had to start somewhere.
Please join us as we forge a new attitude to events. We'd love to hear your experiences and methods for combating our common foe.Cheers
